The Update

Howdy folks,

This is your non-video update for the week. I’m sick, so instead of listening to me hack my way through announcements like a chain-smoker, I though we’d stick to written form. So here’s what you need to know about this week

• The Junior High are going to Feed My Starving Children Wednesday Night
• We will meet at the Maple Grove Community Center (MGCC) @ 5:30pm
• We will finish at the normal time (8:30pm) at the Case’s home (regular Wed. place)
• If you can’t make it to the MGCC at 5:30 feel free to join us at the Case’s, we hope to be back there by 7:30pm.
• Hooray for Becker!
• Thanks to everyone who made the Becker Retreat so successful. Youth Leader Linda Dietz made an awesome video that we will post up here tomorrow morning, be sure to check it out.
• It’s time to Rock!
• The NSL Worship band is leading worship at Northwood this weekend! If you don’t usually make it a point to go to “big church” on Sundays you should (every week) but especially this week to cheer on you’re rockin’ pals as they lead us a worship-throw-down of awesomeness.
• The NSL Jukebox is no more…
• The company that ran the NSL Jukebox for us has gone under, so the Jukebox isn’t online anymore. I’m hoping to find an alternative way to provide great Christian music for your listening enjoyment, I’ll keep you posted.

You'll get that chance on April 25-26. It's the annual 30 Hour Famine overnight event. One of the most challenging and rewarding events we do at Northwood Student Life.

Our youth group will spend time both in Maple Grove and Minneapolis learning about world hunger and poverty. We'll also have a chance to experience both. It's hands-on learning, and it's an intense way to learn more about what it means to be poor or hungry.

We'll fight hunger with Feed My Starving Children and other service projects, and experience hunger by not eating for 30 hours, we'll also spend the night as if we were homeless. It's an immersive experience you won't want to miss.

Fifteen of us went to Feed My Starving Children last Tuesday night and spent an hour and a half packaging food for starving children in Haiti! A special congratulations to the crew, who set a new record at 8,424 meals packaged!

Hey World-Changers, this one's for you.
We're heading to Feed My Starving Children to package food on Tuesday, November 20. Trips to FMSC have always been a blast and this one is sure to be the same. We're going to take 2 hours to feed hundreds and hundreds of people.
If you're scratching your head, here's the deal: Feed My Starving Children is an international organization that packages nutritional meals right here in lovely Minnesota and then sends them all over the world to starving families in third-world countries! Pretty sweet, right?
So that means that even though we can't travel to dozens of countries in one night, we can still make a difference in them! Plus we get to have fun by doing it together, you can't lose!
We've got limited space, so you're going to have to sign up quick to be sure you get a spot. But for thefaithful readers of The Update, I'm giving you a head start.
